Meet Ilana
Ilana Azulai is a native English speaker and certified English teacher with over 20 years of experience helping children learn to read and write — from early literacy with young learners to leading English programs as a director. She holds a Master's in Educational Leadership (valedictorian) and a TEFL teaching certificate, and was awarded the Tzemach David Prize of Excellence in Education in 2024.
Living in Israel and a mom herself, Ilana knows exactly how to make English click for young children. Her classes are warm, patient and full of play — because kids learn best when they're smiling. With WordPets, she brings that same magic to small groups, live on Zoom.

What ages are the classes for?
Classes are designed for children ages 6–8 who are learning to read and write English. Get in touch and we'll match your child to the right group.
How big are the groups?
Very small — just a handful of children per class — so every child gets plenty of attention and speaking time.
What do we need to join?
A tablet, laptop or computer with a webcam, and a quiet spot. We'll send you a Zoom link before each class.
What are the WordPets?
WordPets are our friendly animal characters — a cat, dog, guinea pig, bird and bunny — that bring the classes to life and make learning English feel like play.
